Construction and maintenance of synthetic environments

Lumo Builder introduces a revolution in database construction and maintenance of geospecific and geotypical virtual environments. In the production workflow, it fits in seamlessly between polygon-based 3D modeling and final processing tools for the simulation environment.

Lumo Builder is not a low-level polygon 3D modeller. It is used as a tool for level design using the concept of building blocks which contain a visual, AI and dynamics representation.

Save Time

As a key feature, Lumo Builder offers fast and easy generation of infrastructure. Save vast amounts of modeling time by using Builder's road tools to design extensive road networks. Lumo Builder's primary users are level or scenario designers.

Open architecture

To ensure easy integration within your current production pipeline, Lumo Builder was designed to store its workspace data in a text-based format: the open-source Lua scripting language. This also maximizes the conversion possibilities for users. Integration of Lua scripting also allow Lumo Builder operations to be scripted.

Key Features

  • A proven tool for database generation for Driving Simulators
  • Uses a building block concept.
  • Automatic road and intersection generation based on graph networks in full 3D.
  • Exports dynamics databases: collision hulls, material properties, object masses, etc.
  • Export traffic databases: graph networks that can be used for computer generated forces (AI).
  • Export visual databases.
  • Very usable for non-3D modelers.
  • Open, stores workspace files in text-based format for easy integration in other production tools.
  • Import existing 3DS and OpenFlight models directly.
  • Lumo MaxLink plugin for 3D Studio MAX that exports directly into native Lumo Builder format.
  • Import existing GIS (Shape, DTED, etc) data.
  • Maintains a consistent building block database, simplifying simulator interoperability.
  • What you see is what you get. Build and make changes in real-time. Builder shows you what the world looks like.

Minimum System Requirements

Lumo Builder runs on almost any COTS (commercial off the shelf) hardware.

  • Windows 2000/XP/Vista ready.
  • Standard PC hardware.
  • DirectX 9.0 compliant video hardware with shader model 2 and at least 32mb memory.
  • Screen resolution of 1024x768.
