Landmachtdagen 2010: May 29-30, Havelte, NL
Wednesday, 26 May 2010 00:00
Landmachtdagen 2010   re-lion will again be present during the 'Landmachtdagen' in Havelte on the 29th and 30th of May this year. During these two days, the Army base will be open for public and several demonstrations will be given by Land and Airforce. Most simulation activities will be concentrated around locations purple-5, 9 and 14.

On display will be a demonstrator linking the simulation systems of Thales, TNO and re-lion as well as a preview of Landscape, the terrain database maintenance tool based on Lumo Builder. The simulation contains an actual CV90 vehicle participating in an outdoor demonstration connected via radio to systems running the Army's proprietary Battlefield Management System (BMS), VBS2 and TNO's forward air controller. It is a showcase of Live-Virtual interoperability.

Simulation environments always up-to-date with re-lion's Lumo Builder
Tuesday, 02 March 2010 00:00
Dutch Army simulation environments always up-to-date with re-lion's Lumo Builder   re-lion will provide the Dutch Army with a specifically modified version of Lumo Builder to keep their simulation environments for VBS2, Steel Beasts Pro and the Saggitarius Small Arms Trainer up-to-date.
Modifications are made in a program known as 'NTP Landscape' that is financed by the Defence Material Organisation.

Landscape will enable instructors to take control over the simulation environment by providing an innovative, easy to use, human machine interface (HMI). Landscape also standardizes the content generation pipeline for simulation environments within the Dutch Army and gives users the ability to get an overview of content already present within the organization.
The open architecture supports a wide range of simulator types, as training needs vary across the different units within the Dutch Army. Both geospecific as well as geotypical simulation environments can be maintained, with a high amount of detail outdoors and indoors.

TNO Defence, Security and Safety
gather the user requirements, provide consultancy and support, deliver a prototype application for rapid creation of geotypical environment as a plug-in for Landscape and conduct the usability tests with the Dutch Army.

VBS2 is a serious game used in desktop training for (dismounted) infantry at the Dutch Army. VBS2 is trademark of Bohemia Interactive Australia.
